The vice-champions from the Czech Republic remain victorious in their third game. With their 7:1 victory over the team “United Nations”, they underline their role as one of the tournament favourites.
The Czech Republic started against the "United Nations" team, which is made up of various nations, with an unblemished record of two wins from two games. Despite a shooting ratio of 11:2, the Eastern Europeans only scored once in the first period against the still winless "United Nations". Manhartova put her colours ahead in the 6th minute.
After Sara equalised in the meantime for “United Nations”, the Czechs restored the balance of power with goals from Patockova and from Kaltounkova in powerplay. The score remained 3:1 for a long time before the Eastern Europeans finally closed the game through another score from Kaltounkova, as well as from Ondrova, Landova and again Manhartova.
The Czech women’s team will continue its campaign with a thrilling clash against the USA on Monday evening. The "United Nations" team will face the Swiss on Tuesday.
