Canada without problems against Haiti

Canada did not let Haiti get the better of them in their final round robin game. The reigning world champions won 9:2.

The balance of strength in the clash between defending champion Canada and Haiti was clear. The Canadians opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a double strike within eight seconds. First Magnus netted, followed by Anderson. Holmes added another goal a little later. However, Haiti did not give in. St-Surin reduced the score to 3:1 with a long-range shot, and the Haitians played courageous against the big favourites. They were also able to count on goalkeeper Massa, who made several miraculous saves.

It took until the 27th minute before the Canadians were able to celebrate again. However, they then doubled their lead before the second buzzer: Laframboise scored with a shot from distance and Birkett converted a rebound. This took the wind out of the Haitians' sails. Team Canada then added goal after goal to make the final score 9:2.
