From June 21 - 29, 2024, the best street field hockey players will compete for medals and World Championship titles in Visp and Raron.
Upper Valais was due to host international street field hockey competitions as early as 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the planned junior world championship was postponed by a year and ultimately canceled altogether. The fact that the street field hockey elite will now be coming to Visp and Raron four years later than planned is a source of great anticipation for the sports-loving region and, of course, for Swiss Street Hockey as the umbrella organization for the sport in Switzerland.
The organizers are expecting a total of around 26 teams (18 men, 8 women) to travel to Switzerland from all over the world in the summer of 2024.
The last time the Active World Championships were held in Switzerland was in the Bossard Arena in Zug in 2015. In 2003, the Grabenhalle in Sierre hosted the international title fights.
